At lunchtime children may purchase a school dinner or bring a packed lunch from home. The school dinners are provided by Havering Catering Services under a contract with the school. This operates a cashless cafeteria basis which means that the children pay for their dinners daily with dinner tickets. These are available from the dinner ladies Tuesdays and Thursday mornings at 8.45.

Children are encouraged to choose a balanced meal consisting of protein, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals. Most items are now home made fresh food.

If you are in receipt of family credit or income support, you may be entitled to free meals. Forms are available from the Education Office in Romford (tel; 01708-432222) or from the school office. Even if you do not wish the child to have a free meal, please register your entitlement as the number of children entitiled to free school meals increases our school budget and influences the comparison tables for school SATs results.

Packed lunches

Packed lunches are eaten in the school hall. Please send these in a strong box with your child's name and class clearly marked on the outside. We are a Nationally Accredited Healthy School and so we would ask that parents and carers support our aims of encouraging children to eat healthily by giving balanced pack lunches. Children may bring a cold drink in a leak proof container, but please do not send in the foil 'Capri Sun' type drinks as these can be very messy. Fizzy drinks, glass bottles and cans are not allowed. We are a nut free school.

Break time snack

Children may bring in a piece of fruit or a healthy snack from home.
